The concept of getting achievements for certain actions in a game have been made popular by game consoles, especially by the Xbox 360. It quickly spread to other consoles such as the PS3 and has now even made its way to PC games. Due to the popularity of achievements, Blizzard has decided to include them in their long awaited Real Time Strategy game, StarCraft 2. Here’s a quick StarCraft 2 achievement guide for those of you having trouble getting them.

There are many different types of achievements and rewards in StarCraft 2. You can complete many achievements simply by finishing the single player campaign mode and completing every single mission objectives. If you’re a good player, simply play the entire campaign mode in Brutal difficulty settings and you can actually complete all the mission related achievements in a single play through. But don’t be afraid to replay the same missions on lower difficulty settings if you’re having a hard time getting that particular achievement. For example, in the Mar Sara evacuation mission, you can simply defend your base to make sure no structures were destroyed in your first play through, and then aim to get the Zerg hatcheries in the next round. You don’t have to do it all in one shot. If you’re a weaker player, start your way from a lower difficulty setting, aiming to complete one objective at a time.
You can also get achievements by performing certain actions, talking to other NPCs in between missions and unlocking military upgrades as well as mercenary groups. These are fairly easy to achieve. Just make sure that you talk to everyone in between every mission. Talk to them at least twice to make sure you triggered everything you can. Military upgrades and mercenary groups costs money to unlock, something that might seem impossible to do on your first try.
Fortunately, there is an easy way to get these achievements. Just unlock whatever you need during the course of the game. By the time you arrive at the last few mission, you should have plenty of money, but not enough to get everything. At this point you simply have to save your game and start by unlocking all your military upgrades one section at a time, then reload the save game and do it all over again. For example, after saving your game, you can unlock all the upgrades for your infantries to get the achievement Infantry Tech Master, then reloading the game and spend your money to unlock the Base Tech Master achievement. You can do the same to get the Band of Legends achievement.
The hardest achievements to get are the ones from League games. These starcraft 2 achievement guide take time and patience, especially those related to the number of league wins. But if you’re aiming for specific ones such as Unbreakable, you just have to keep that in mind going into the game and focus on achieving it. It may take a few tries, but these usually aren’t as hard. You just have to find an opportunity and take it.
